Triangles, 150E, A. de Haan Contractors, Vierpolders, NL
The municipality of Voorne aan Zee is located on the South Holland island of Voorne-Putten. With expansive dunes and the proximity of the North Sea, there's plenty to do in every season.
Here, a modern villa, designed by HDK Architects, stands proud. This country house features unique louvers, installed by Sunshield, commissioned by A. den Haan Contractors in Oostvoorne (NL).
These unique louver systems have been installed on the two triangular gables at the front side of the country house. They include tiltable louvers, of course.
The left-hand window is eight meters wide at the base and four meters high. Two louver systems have been installed here, operating both independently and synchronously.
The right-hand front facade measures six by three meters and is equipped with a single louver system. Like the window itself, this forms an isosceles triangle that closely follows the contours of the window.
The owners opted for the 150-E louver, which is ideally suited to these lengths. The 150-E louver has a sleek design and is 150 mm wide.
When fully open, the louvers offer a 14-centimeter view between them. This provides ample daylight and a beautiful panorama of the polders.
All louver systems have their own motor. Users can easily open and close the louvers using a remote control, or adjust them to any desired position in between, with complete flexibility.
The aluminium components are coated in RAL 7021. The 30% gloss level gives the black-grey colour a matte appearance. The plastic parts, such as the clips that hold the louvers in place, are black.
