Rectangles, 150E, Van Maaren en Van Doorn, Hobru, Geldermalsen, NL
Geldermalsen is the largest core of the Dutch municipality of West Betuwe. The Betuwe is known for its fruit cultivation and orchards. In spring there is an aromatic scent of fragrant blossoms.
Here, the business premises of Hobru Road Maintenance have been fitted with unique louvers. By Sunshield, commissioned by construction company Van Maren en Van Doorn, also located in Geldermalsen.
The entrance to the Hobru office is located on the southwest and is at a 45-degree angle to the front as well as the left facade. The first slat system is placed above the door.
This system connects the louvers to the left and right of the entrance. On the left, five louver systems have been placed directly next to each other over a length of 22 metres.
The system to the right of the entrance is almost four metres wide. The systems to the left and right of the entrance are over six metres high.
When determining the type of louver, the choice fell on the 150-E slat, a louver with a width of 150 mm. When the slats are fully open, the space between them is 14 centimetres.
Plenty of room for daylight and a view. Each slat system is equipped with a motor, so that in every office space one can control the amount of light and heat that allowed.
With a remote control, the employees set the louvers to the desired position. Not just open or closed, but in every position in between. This is done completely stepless.
The aluminium parts are coated in RAL 7021 with a fine structure. This structure results in a visible and tactile relief that gives the black-grey colour a matt appearance.
The plastic parts, such as the clips that hold the slats, are also black.
