Arches, 96E, Ambiance van Leeuwen, Vught, NL
The name Vught comes from "damp place", which refers to the time when local marshes became habitable. Vught (NL) remains a hub of waterways, and therefore a haven for anyone who likes to enjoy the outdoors.
Two beautiful arched windows here feature tilting louvers. Sunshield designed, produced, and installed them, commissioned by Ambiance van Leeuwen in Sint-Michielsgestel.
The windows on the first floor are almost three meters wide and four meters high. The longest louver is 2647 mm long, with each successive louver shorter than the last. The shortest louver is only 116 mm.
The shape or size of a window doesn't matter; every project is custom-made. Therefore, there's always a suitable solution, with the louvers precisely following the contours of the window.
The residents opted for the 96-E louver, a blade with a width of 96 mm. When fully open, the space between the louvers is 9 centimeters. Hence, plenty of room for daylight and a great view.
Both systems are equipped with a motor operated by remote control. This allows users to open or close the louvers, or to any desired position in between, infinitely variable.
This 90 mm increment allows for daylight and a view. Especially since in summer, when the sun is high, simply closing the louvers slightly is enough to detect the sun.
The aluminum parts, such as the louvers and supports, are coated in RAL 7024. Due to its 30% gloss level, the graphite gray has a matte appearance. The clips holding the louvers are black.
