Triangle & Trapezium, 155E, Residence, Udenhout, NL

Udenhout

Udenhout (NL) is a Brabant village directly below national park Loonse and Drunense Duinen and just above Tilburg. Signs of habitation go way back as much as 5,000 years, to the Iron Age.

Here is a residence fitted with unique louvers. By Sunshield. A slat system with tiltable louvers has been installed on both the front and rear facades.

The window at the front has the shape of a trapezium and so does the louver system. The high side is 6 meters, the low side 4 meters.

The slat system on the rear facade is triangular in shape and is located just below the ridge. The louvers here have an area of just over 4 m2.

A motor drives the tilting slats. The louvers can be opened and closed using a remote control, or at any desired position in between. That is stepless.

The residents here have opted for the 155-E louver. This slat is 155 millimetres wide and has a step size of 140 cm. So there is plenty of visibility when the slats are fully open.

All aluminium components are coated in RAL 8022, black-brown. The plastic parts are matching in black.
