Rooflights, 155E, Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam, NL
The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam is world famous. Currently only 8% of the collection can be displayed in the monumental museum building. The rest is stored away, unfortunately. That is exactly why the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen is now being built, right next to the museum.
The Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen will open its doors to the public in 2021. The design of he Depot is from the renowned architects MVRDV. The futuristic building is a true work of art. A piece of art that, even before completion, has already won the Rooftop Award 2020.
Sunshield is pleased that it has been able to contribute to this masterpiece. And what a contribution! A rooflight of no less than 206m2. The 155-E louver was deployed for this immense surface. The 155-E is a blade with extraordinary blackout features because the slats not only overlap, but also interlock.
The 155-E louvers, as well as the rack arm system carrying the louvers are powder coated in RAL 7047, also known as Telegrey 4. The jet moulded plastic parts are all light grey.
