Multiples shapes, 96E, 150E, Residence, Waalwijk, NL

The city of Waalwijk borders the nature reserve Loonse and Drunense Dunes. With its heathlands, forests and dunes, there is plenty to explore. And for everyone young at heart, there is the amusement park the Efteling.

Here, a modern villa has been built based on a design by the architectural firm Van Reeven, located in Waalwijk (NL). Unique louvers from Sunshield were included in this design.

In the north facade, to the right of the entrance, there is a risalite. This projecting facade section houses the staircase. The risalite is two metres wide and five metres high.

The window of the facade projection is slightly set back from the outside. The rectangular louver system is, as it were, framed by the extension, which means that it integrates perfectly into the risalite.

For this louver system, the residents opted for the 150-E louver. This is a blade with a width of 150 mm and a view between the slats of 14 centimetres.

The east and west facades of the residence are gables. In the middle of these facades is a chimney. And to the left and right of the chimney is a triangular window.

In the reveals of these windows, louver systems have been placed that closely follow the lines of the triangles. For these windows the 96-E louver, with a view of 9 centimetres, has been used.

The 150-E and the 96-E have a similar sleek design. They are often used next to each other in projects if the proportions make it more suitable or when it suits the personal preference better.

All louver systems have their own motor connected to the home automation system of the residence. From there, they are operated centrally and independently of each other.

The aluminium components are coated in RAL 9004 with a fine structure. Due to this structure, the coating has a tactile and visible relief, and the signal black colour has a matt appearance.
