Heeze-Leende

Heeze-Leende is located slightly southeast of Eindhoven. This municipality includes beautiful nature reserves as the Strabrechtse Heide and the Herbetusbossen, popular with hikers, cyclists and horse riders.

Here, a detached residence has been fitted with unique louvers. By Sunshield, commissioned by Groenhart Houtskeletbouw (Timber frame construction) in Doetinchem (NL).

A total of five louver systems have been installed here, four at the rear and one at the left facade. The rear of the house faces southwest, where four windows have been fitted with facade louvers.

The choice for these slat systems fell on the 107-E louver. This blade has a width of 107 mm. When the louvers are fully open, the view between the louvers is 9 centimetres.

The first window is triangular, two meters wide and two meters high. The first three louvers together form a horizontal rectangle, after which the system continues triangularly.

The second window has the shape of a parallelogram and is two metres wide and one metre high. The slats of these two systems are positioned at a fixed angle of 45 degrees.

Further two systems are placed next to each other in the gable. The left one has the shape of a trapezium, the right one that of a triangle. These two louver systems are operated wirelessly.

Finally, at the front door in the overhang of the left façade, a canopy has been created with the 155-E louver. The slats are set in a fixed position during installation, here at an angle of 40 degrees.

The 155-E has a similar profile to the 107-E. At 155 mm, the blade is however considerably wider than the 107-E. Both have in common that they not only overlap but also interlock.

The aluminium components are coated in RAL 9004. Due to the gloss level of 30%, the signal black colour has a matt appearance. The plastic parts are also black.
