Triangles, 96E, Residence, Dordrecht, NL
As Dordrecht (NL) is surrounded by rivers, this oldest city of Holland has a rich history. For culture lovers there is a lot to experience and for the outdoors enthusiasts there is of course national park the Biesbosch.
Here a detached house has been fitted with unique louvers, by Sunshield. Both the front and rear facades of the residence have been fitted with almost triangular louver systems.
Almost because the bottom four louvers together form a horizontal rectangle. After the first 40 centimetres, the louver system continues as a triangle, up to the ridge.
In July 2023, the rear façade was first fitted with a louver system, as it faces south. A year later, the same sun protection system was installed on the front façade.
For these louver systems, the residents opted for the 96-E louver. This is a louver with a sleek design and a width of 96 mm. The view through between the louvers is 9 centimetres.
Subsequently, a Horizon louver roof was installed in the garden in January 2025. Whether the sun is shining or it is raining, with this lean-to louver roof you can enjoy your garden all year round.
The three systems are of course motorised. With a remote control, users can open and close the slats. Or in any desired position in between, which is completely stepless.
All aluminium components are finished in RAL 9005. The two louver systems are coated with a gloss level of 70%, also known as high gloss.
The louver roof is coated with a fine structure that gives the jet-black colour a matt appearance. The plastic parts, such as the clips that hold the slats, are black everywhere.
