S-system Rack Arms
The rack arm is mounted to a mullion or a wall. The less mounting points available, the sturdier the rack arm needs to be. For example, when it is necessary to bridge a glass surface, or a gap. In these situations there is nothing available to mount the rack arms to. That is why Sunshield offers several types of rack arms.
Flexible and reliable installations
The aluminium louvers up to and including the 117-E and the wooden louvers up to and including the 94-W make use of the S-system. S-system louvers can be supplied with several types of rack arms. In 90% of the situations the standard rack arm will do perfectly. In other circumstances the Heavy Duty Rack Arm or the Box Rack Arm are available to do the job.
Standard Rack Arm
The standard rack arm has a height of 35 mm. That is why the standard rack arm is also referred to as the S 35 mm rack arm. And indeed, the 'S' stands for S-system. The standard rack arm has three tracks. The top one is populated with pivot arms. The other two are available for mounting purposes.
Heavy Duty Rack Arm
The heavy duty rack arm has a height of 80 mm. That is why the term S 80 mm rack arm is used interchangeably for this type of rack arm. The heavy duty rack arm has also three tracks. The pivot arms are installed in the top track. The other two tracks are available for mounting.
Box Rack Arm
The box rack arm has a height of 98 mm. And because of that also called the S 98 mm rack arm. The box rack arm has five tracks. The pivot arms are clipped into the top track. The other tracks are available for mounting purposes.
Which type of rack arms is deployed depends on the project at hand. In most cases, the Standard Rack Arm will do the job perfectly. Depending on the louver type, the S 35 mm rack arm requires a mounting point every 1.200 to 2.250 mm. Beam Rack Arm
Actually, there is another rack arm option for the S-system; the Beam Rack Arm. This S 117 mm rack arm is specifically designed for louver roofs and pergolas. This rack arm has enough stiffness to span up to 4 m.
The beam rack arm is designed with a chamber in its lower half. This chamber offers enough room to house the motor, as well as LED spots – both operated with a remote control, of course.
